No Data for 7000 class locomotive. Because it was invented on World War 2

Bangladesh Railway Class 6600 is a class of 1,676 mm gauge diesel-electric locomotives owned by Bangladesh Railway. There are 40 locomotives of this class, all designed and manufactured by American company Progress Rail's Electro-Motive Diesel subsidiary. Class 6600 locomotives are used on both freight and passenger trains. Those are the strongest and most advanced broad-gauge locomotives in the Bangladesh Railway.

Bangladesh Railway Class 6500 is a class of 1,676 mm gauge diesel-electric locomotives owned by Bangladesh Railway. There are 56 locomotives of this class, all manufactured by the Banaras Locomotive Works of India. All locomotives of this class are in service.

Details

In 2012, Bangladesh Railway ordered broad-gauge diesel-electric locomotives from India, modeled as WDM-3A. These 26 locomotives were imported in Bangladesh in 2012, 2013 and 2014. These locomotives have a power of 3100 hp. They are fitted with AAR coupling and have a gear ratio of 65:18. These locomotives are marked as BED-30, which stands for broad gauge diesel-electric manufactured by DLW, engine with 30 * 100 hp (30) and numbered as 6501 - 6526.

On 27 July 2020, 10 WDM-3D units were imported from India under a “grant assistance” plan and marked as BED-33. The class name stands for broad gauge diesel-electric manufactured by DLW, engine with 33 * 100 hp (33) and numbered as 6527 - 6536. In the year of 2023 more 20 WDM-3D locomotives (6537 - 6556) has arrived to Bangladesh as gift from Indian government. These locos have a 3300 hp power pack, with maximum available traction power of 2925 hp.

Bangladesh Railway Locomotive Class 6400 (BED-26) is a class of broad-gauge diesel-electric locomotives owned by Bangladesh Railway. Total 13 locomotives have been manufactured by Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), India, 10 in 2001 as WDM-2B and 3 in 2004 as WDM-2CA. The class name stands for broad gauge (B), Diesel-electric (E), manufactured by DLW (D), engine with 26 * 100 hp (26) and numbered as 6401 - 6413. Currently all are active in service.

Bangladesh Railway Locomotive Class 6300 (BEB-22) is a class of broad-gauge (1,676 mm) diesel-electric locomotive of Bangladesh, operated by Bangladesh Railway. Total 12 locomotives of this class were manufactured by Bombardier in 1980. The class name stands for broad gauge (B), Diesel-electric (E), manufactured by Bombardier (B), engine with 22 * 100 hp (22) and numbered as 6301 - 6312.

Bangladesh Railway Class 6200 is a class of broad-gauge (1,676 mm) diesel-electric locomotive of Bangladesh, operated by Bangladesh Railway.

Class 6200 locomotives did not turned out to be successful locomotive class due to some technical issue. So, they were mostly used on some mail/express trains and short-distant commuter trains. Later, they were used for shunting. None of the locomotives are currently active.

The Bangladesh Railway Class 6100 (BEM 20) is a class of broad-gauge diesel-electric locomotives owned by Bangladesh Railway. They are the second broad-gauge diesel locomotives of Bangladesh after Class 6000. They are similar to Class 6000 locomotives made by ALCo. They were the most powerful locomotives of Bangladesh of that time, along with Class 6000, before the arrival of Class 6300 and Class 6400.

Bangladesh Railway Class 6000 is a class of broad-gauge (5 ft 6 in) diesel-electric locomotives of Bangladesh operated by Bangladesh Railway. Total 18 locos of this class were manufactured by the American Locomotive Company (Alco) at Schenectady plant, USA. They entered the fleet of the then Pakistan Eastern Railway of East Pakistan (present Bangladesh) in 1965. The model of class 6000 locos is Alco DL543/RSD-34.

Bangladesh Railway Class 3300 is a class of metre-gauge diesel-hydraulic locomotive in Bangladesh, operated by Bangladesh Railway. They are the first meter-gauge diesel-hydraulic locomotives of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Railway purchased 80 diesel-hydraulic locomotives from Ganz Mavag, Budapest, Hungary within 1980-82. Among them, 60 were metre-gauge locomotives. Among them, 38 were Class 3300 locomotives classified as MHZ-8, where M = Metre-gauge, H = Diesel-hydraulic, Z = Ganz Mavag and 8 = 8×100 hp = 800 hp. It is basically a more powerful version of Class 3200 locomotives.

Usage

These 800 hp locomotives were not used for mainline duty, only used for shunting. This was not a successful locomotive class. Only 1 locomotive of this class are currently in service.

Details

Bangladesh Railway purchased 80 diesel-hydraulic locomotives from Ganz Mavag, Budapest, Hungary within 1980-82. Among them, 60 were metre-gauge locomotives. Among them, 22 were Class 3200 locomotives classified as MHZ-5, where M = Metre-gauge, H = Diesel-hydraulic, Z = Ganz Mavag and 5 = 5×100 hp = 500 hp.

Usage

These 500 hp locomotives were not used for mainline duty, only used for shunting. This was not a successful locomotive class. Only 2 locomotives of this class are currently in service.
